The Belgian and Dutch Beer Tasting and Food Party began with Belgian fries galore (french fries come from Belgium apparently) then Antoon gave an amusing presentation on the culture of both countries complete with powerpoint display...

Jason from the Belgian Belly (a very entertaining and knowledgeable expert on the subject of all things Belgian) introduced us all to seven very different top quality Belgian beers - each with it's own unique history and tradition...


...so i tried a few... ......... ..... . . . . . .. .. . ...... ...and then i tried a few more........

then some more (and a few biscuits)......................and then some more (please note how some of ..............................................................................................the biscuits seem to have magically disappeared)

and then i found myself feeling rather happy.........................................and so did sam...

and so did a lot of people...the only logical and scientific conclusion is that Belgian beers are made by
magical Belgian pixies who sprinkle them with their special Belgian pixie dust... i must do some follow up research...
