| Coming To Greater Manchester We are pleased that you are coming to this part of the country and would like to welcome to you to the North West of England! Manchester is about 200 miles north of London with a population of over 5 million. It is a major commercial, media and education centre with a good social, cultural and sporting life. It is within reach of many well known tourist areas including the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales, North Wales and the Peak District.
